Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
And let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works:
For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
He that has a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor.
There is that scatters, and yet increases; and there is that withholds more than is meet, but it tends to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.
But when you do alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand does: That your alms may be in secret: and your Father which sees in secret himself shall reward you openly.
I have showed you all things, how that so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
